Description
Recently exhibited in the “In the Spirit” contemporary Native art exhibition.
This bottle is a blend of contemporary design and traditional methods. The clay is hand-dug, hand processed, coil-built, burnished with a rock, pit-fired, and hand-etched, all in a traditional manner. The etching is inspired by the scissor-tailed flycatchers that were chasing each other in and around a beautiful oak tree while the bottle was in the open-pit fire.
